101 Domain Sending gTLD Updates

101 DomainLast week, I wrote about Calzone, a new calendar website for the domain industry. The primary objective of the calendar is to keep people informed of important dates for the new gTLDs, such as sunrise periods, landrush periods, general availability, auctions…etc.

101 Domain is offering customers somewhat of a more personal email newsletter to keep them abreast of new gTLD dates and updates. The newsletter is called New gTLD Update, and it is sent to customers and others who sign up to receive it on a weekly basis.

The newsletter is helpful for a few reasons. First, it provides a status update for hundreds of new gTLD extensions. It lets customers know if the extension is in In Pre-registration, Sunrise, Landrush, Fully Available, or if it was Withdrawn. The newsletter also shares the approximate quarterly date for these important hurdles. Additionally, the newsletter shares the price to purchase domain names. Finally, the newsletter highlights what has changed since that last newsletter was emailed.

To give you an example of the information that 101 Domain provides in the newsletter, .photo domain names is expected to be holding its sunrise period from January 24, 2014 – March 25, 2014, and .photo domain names are expected to cost $29.99. The price is subject to change and doesn’t include fees that may be added.

If you’re interested in receiving this newsletter, you can sign up here.
