Bob Parsons #343 on 2014 Forbes 400 List

The 2014 Forbes 400 list was revealed a week ago, and GoDaddy founder Bob Parsons is once again listed amongst the wealthiest individuals in the United States. In this year’s list, Mr. Parsons ranks #343, with an estimated net worth of $1.9 billion. Most of his wealth was earned as a result of the success of GoDaddy, which recently filed paperwork to become a publicly traded company.

This is not Mr. Parson’s first time being on the Forbes 400 list. In 2013, Mr. Parsons also made an appearance on the Forbes 400 list, ranking #296. His estimated net worth was also $1.9 billion last year, so despite his estimated net worth  not changing year over year, his ranking went down 47 spots.

Parsons’ first year on the Forbes 400 list was in 2011, where he ranked #293 with an estimated net worth of $1.5 billion. Interestingly, when he was interviewed by Forbes, he said “I am not a billionaire.” It seems that he was being modest when he said that, and since that time, his net worth has gone up quite a bit.

Mr. Parsons’ background is quite interesting, as  he  is  a self made billionaire. If you’d like to read Parsons’ full bio, I recommend checking the biography shared on his personal website.

Since exiting GoDaddy, Parsons has become involved in quite a few other business ventures. I read that he owns Scottsdale National Golf Club, several Harley Davidson motorcycle dealerships, an advertising agency, and other businesses. In addition, Mr. Parsons has become a philanthropist, and his foundation,  The Bob and Renee Parsons Foundation, gives a significant amount of money to charitable causes annually.

    • Oh shut up. That elephant story is way old news and it was never a trophy hunt. The elephant was a nuisance and would have been put down regardless of who was holding the gun. Educate yourself.

    • It may not have been a trophy hunt, but he filmed it and uploaded it to the internet and used it as a PR stunt. I live in the mountains with animals and they eat my vegetables and kill my chickens. Killing them isn’t the solution and parading over their dead bodies with GoDaddy hats on doesn’t make you a hero.

  1. Collabo, I agree with you. His a moron.

And I always hated having to use godaddy (what kind of name is that by the way?) for domain transfers. I rather pay more and use other companies.
