A few weeks ago, Rick Scwartz blogged about CADNA on Rick’s Blog. He took a different tact than many and emailed them offering his assistance by joining their cause. As of a few days later, Rick’s email had gone unanswered. Perhaps they were on vacation since the summer was ending? Maybe they weren’t interested in Rick’s overture? I wonder if Rick ever received a response from them…
I just learned that Rick has not heard back from the folks at CADNA. Although it’s not surprising, it certainly is disappointing. Why wouldn’t they want a person with such vision as Rick to work with them?
One of the reasons they may be reticent is Schwartz’ apparent lack of knowlwdge and understanding as to what constitutes cybersquatting.
In his blog he accuses CADNA of cybersquatting @ CADNA.org on the basis of the fact that an automotive parts company owns the domain name CADNA.com
One would assume that given his self proclaimed title of DomainKing and his own negative experiences with the World Intellectual Property Office uniform dispute resolution policy that Schwartz would have learned a thing or two about domain squatting and trademark infingement but it seems that even after having it explained to him, he is still at a loss.
Seems after having his membership application rebuffed by way of being ignored the King is not only no longer interested in being a member of CADNA but is now intent on smearing them.
The King changes his mind more than your average three year old only he does so with slightly less intellect.
***UPDATE BY ELLIOT*** Although it sounds like you have a personal issue with Rick, I do agree that CADNA isn’t cybersquatting on CADNA.org.
