Digimedia Launches Thankful.com To Share Expressions of Gratitude From Oklahoma

Thankful.comJay Chapman, President of Digimedia, a Oklahoma-based domain investment and development company, announced that the company launched Thankful.com this morning. Thankful.com is an aggregation of Twitter and Instagram messages from people expressing their gratitude for the support in the wake of the devastating tornados that struck Moore, Oklahoma.

I reached out to Jay to ask about the website, and here’s what he had to say:

“There are so many people (most of whom we will never know) who are freely giving of themselves to help those devastated by the recent storms here in Oklahoma. Ā  The response from folks worldwide – we’ve seen it first-hand on the web & on the ground – has been overwhelming, encouraging and humbling. Ā

Showing appreciation, and hearing others being appreciative, also tends to be very invigorating. Ā  The team desperately wanted to thank everyone who has been, is, and will be helping with relief and recovery efforts. Ā  But short of a vanilla, blanket “Thanks, Everyone!”, it seemed impossible or, at best, something with only a limited reach. None of us can ever be thankful enough, but we wanted to try. Ā

So the idea of quickly aggregating others’ appreciation came up – with the goal of implicitly saying “RIGHT ON!” without having to know everyone or needing to retweet, like or share all the love being spread around. Ā  And It could all happen through Thankful.com – which figured to be a good place to start.”

Using Thankful.com is an excellent way to show how appreciative Oklahomans are, and I think the website is going to be a big viral hit. You can follow along on social networking sites with Ā #OKThankful as the keyword hashtag.

Scott Day, founder of Digimedia, let me know via email that everyone at his company survived the storms and they are all safe. David Eccles, founder of TNTNames.com, lives in the hard-hit city of Moore, Oklahoma, and he also shared news that he and his family are safe as well.

Domain Boardroom and Escrow.com are sponsoring an auction on my blog to raise funds for the American Red Cross, and the auction will close at 5pm EDT today. So far, there is close to $4,000 in high bids.

I wish Oklahomans all the best as they recover from these storms.

  1. Just checked the website and found heartfelt messages coming from victims and supporters in full swing. Thanks to Jay Chapman and his team for this show.

  2. I am so happy that people have been generous to Oklahomans. What a personal way for people to share appreciation. I donated to the red cross which was an easy thing to do with my mobile phone service.
I have a website http://sharingthanks.blogspot.com that encourages appreciation where anyone can share life’s small joys. Thankful.com is a great idea!
