Domainsville Launches

I received an email from Abdu Tarabichi this morning announcing the launch of Domainsville.com, a new website aimed at helping domain investors. Tarabichi is also the founder of DNKB.org (Domain Name Knowledge Base), and he has frequently sent me helpful suggestions for my blog.

According to a post on the Domainsville blog this morning,

“Domainsville.com is a portal that combines all the resources you need to navigate the domain industry.   Read more useful articles, and locate fresh and functional promo codes to save on your next domain order.   Plan way ahead of time for the next event with our comprehensive listing of domain conferences, meet-ups, webinars, and live auctions directly from your Domainsville dashboard.   Signed-in users can customize, edit, or remove information widgets as they desire.   For example, if you do business with select domain registrars, eliminate the clutter by hiding promo codes from all other companies.”

There are a number of websites catering to the needs of domain investors, so it will be interesting to see how Tarabichi differentiates this from other websites. I wish him luck with his new venture.

  1. So you accept favors in exchange for mentions on your blog??

Congratulations, you now moved from editorial to the soul-selling world of advertorial!

    • @ Mike

Favors? It’s my site and I can pick and choose what I write about. I know the guy has been working on the site for months and has been super excited about it, so why the f not write an article about it when I’m on vacation? If you don’t like it or don’t like reading what I wrote, feel free to take a hike.

  2. Sounds familiar. Get mad when someone makes a comment. Ridicule a person who is assumed to ask too many questions. Start a question site after the fact.

Assume a person thinks an overrated domain company prices the domains featured on their platform.

Domainers visit blogs to learn. It seems they have to deal with unprofessional people with attitudes. Welcome to the domain world.

  3. Just checked it out, seems okay. It’s a nice collaboration of articles, event dates and services. It truly is a solid definition of a portal. We need more sites like this, as domainers are not known for their marketing and innovative/creative skills.

It’s good that it is in its beta stage though. Too many sections to navigate, needs to be planned a little better. A little empty as well but that will fill up quickly I am sure. The idea is sound as thre are no real sites like it, however the content will be the key. Fill it with useless garbage and the people will leaves in droves. It has to have something that will draw the people in everyday, or every second day.

I really like the live feed from blogs. There was an RSS feed from recent activity in your Blog. Can’t find it now. It must have a time limit. Nice clean CSS too. Not too busy. Let’s hope they don’t bastardize it by placing ads everywhere. Perhaps they’ll look at monetization through more elegant ways (of which there are plenty).

Whoops. The site just faltered. Can’t access anything now.

PS – I vist Elliots Blog to learn, but more for entertainment. Robert Cline should have his own TV show. Ha ha.

  4. Aaah, got lost in it.
They need to change the home button once you are in the Blog to lead you back to the real home page, not the blog home page.

  5. Hi Damon, this is Abdu from Domainsville. Thank you so much for your feedback! We’re glad to hear that you found the site useful and informative. We are working on a few enhancements that should improve our visitors experience. You mentioned something disappearing (post or like). Older posts are pushed to further pages (there is a pagination bar at the end of the Feed widget). Let me know if your question is something else. We have updated the link on the blog logo so it should now point to the main site. Thank you again and have a wonderful day!
