Donuts Running BestName.Business Contest

Donuts is running a brand naming contest for entities that are using a new gTLD domain name extension. The winner of the BestName.Business contest will receive a $5,000 advertising budget courtesy of the registry. The contest is being run by Name.Kitchen, which is a name creation website operated by Donuts.

Here’s how the contest is described on the BestName.Business website:

These 8 businesses have great stories, and all of their stories start with a great name.
Their “not-com” names are catchy, meaningful and most importantly, memorable.

Now it’s your chance to pick the BestName.business.

The winner gets a $5,000 advertising budget to help spread their name, so each vote really counts.

Voting in the contest is open to the general public, and people are allowed to vote up to 3 times per day. The voting started yesterday, and it is open until February 28, 2016. Visitors are encouraged to watch a video about each company and “Heart the business with the best not-com name.” Each heart counts as a vote, and the brand with the most votes at the end of the month will receive the prize.

At the time of publication, it looks like TheWrap.Life is current in first place. There is a standings chart with the top 3 business names at the bottom of the page.

It looks like this is a cool promotion from Donuts and Name.Kitchen.
