Heritage Auctions Releases Reserve Prices

I received the list of reserve prices for the upcoming Heritage Auctions domain name auction, and I shared it with you below. The auction will be online only, and the live portion will take place on April 9, 2014 at 2:30pm Central Time. Bidders may place bids online prior to the auction, and pre-bidding closes the same day at 12:30pm Central Time.  Unlike the previous auction, there will not be in-person bidding, so all bids must be placed online.

On a sidenote, Heritage Auctions ran another advertisement for this auction in the New York Times. I think this gives a little bit extra exposure, although I don’t know if the results can be quantified.

If you have any questions about the auction or domain names included in the auction, you are welcome to post them here or you may directly contact Heritage Auctions’ Aron Meystedt.

  1. some real overpriced doggies here. the 3 letter dotcoms will sell @ 5k. a few others here and there. only the second auction and it’s already goin’ downhill. mostly just for domainers at end user prices. oh well… life goes on.

  2. Several great domains and reasonable reserve prices compared to the recent auctions of (GreatDomains, Moniker/SnapNames, T.R.A.F.F.I.C) IMO.

Here are some domains I like along with their reserve prices:

    Tablets.com $750,000
    Future.com $300,000
    PearlEarrings.com $50,000
    PriceofGold.com $37,500
    Smart.org $17,500

  3. SouthAmerica.com – Who is going to develop a geo for a continent? What sort of business can you develop around a continent?

    I agree CorpusChristi.com is a nice name.

  4. Yawn. Most of these are trying to fetch end-user prices during an auction process.

FYI, Elliot the link to ha.com/IP is broken.

  5. I am a little lost isn’t an auction house supposed to have auction pricing?

If they don’t lower the reserves they are going to have terrible results.

Out of the first 30 names listed the only ones that may meet reserve are LK.com and Smart.org

  6. While a handful are hopeful there is a decent majority that have a decent shot, I think we may see a total sale figure in the 7 figures.

How many recent domainer run auctions/fests/confrences a year do we have with that kind of result again in the last 6 years?

My hat is off to Aaron, that is a great looking list and many priced well.

  7. I see this auction selling +_50% of the inventory. Some names are crappy while others are decent to good. With that being said I do see this auction having a total sales figure in just above 7 figures.

    My predictions on a few:

    Tablets.com $750,000.00 — WONT SELL
    Future.com $300,000.00 — SOLD
    March.com $250,000.00 — WONT WELL
    LK.com $250,000.00 — SOLD
    Spokane.com $250,000.00 — WONT SOLD
    Digital.com $200,000.00 — SOLD
    DEC.com | 5th oldest domain name on the Internet $50,000.00 – SOLD

    while, lets wait and see…

  8. I think the auctioneer’s job is to include the best names with the best chances of selling. I have no idea if they will sell, but exceptional headliner names will likely get more attention that subpar names. I would bet that Aron did his best to pick the right inventory that would sell since that’s his job.

  9. “Out of the first 30 names listed the only ones that may meet reserve are LK.com and Smart.org”

Just like I said these are the only ones that met reserve.

  10. My bad I was on the site and it says internet bidding is closed so I assumed it was completely closed. if the internet bidding is closed the only chance for them to hit reserve is if someone is in the audience puts in a bid correct?
