Lowell.com is Re-Launched

Subscribe to Elliot's BlogI want to let you know that I just re-launched Lowell.com this morning.   If anyone has any time, it would be great if you could point out some 404s or other errors you may find.   I know Shopping, Sports News and Business News aren’t working yet, but can anyone find any other errors?
Thanks in advance!

  1. The site looks great Elliot, extremely professional, and very informative. I would imagine you’ll start receiving a lot of quality one way links, and eventually the site will be self propelled.
I didn’t come across any errors. Best of luck.

  2. Looks great Elliot! Is this a template from Associated Cities? How much does it cost to join?

It’s a custom site created by my designer/developer in collaboration with me. Thank you 🙂
Lowell.com is a member of Associated Cities though.

  3. When you click on any link in the category of Best Hotel Deals(which is on the right side of the webpage) they take you to the Burbank.com website and Burbank.com links.

Will be fixed later tonight – thanks!

  4. Looks great.
A couple quickies from the homepage:
    – if you click on a date in the calendar, it brings you to a page with a burbank header
    – for me (IE7), the text underneath the advertising isn’t aligned. the first word wants to hang out next to the graphic (and gets hidden or runs off the screen), and the second word stands alone under the graphic. For example, “Residence” is to the right of the graphic and runs into the border, and “Inn” stands alone under the graphic. “Radisson” is almost entirely hidden behind the Residence Inn graphic.
I started timing out after that, as I suspect more tweaking is going on. Best of luck.

Sorry, but the page you requested does not exist. Please check your link and try again.
You will now be directed to the homepage.
–> You then get re-directed to burbank.com instead.

  6. Absolutely Beautiful Elliot!! Congrats on getting accepted to Associated Cities as well, you definitely deserved it. Just wanted to let you know I enjoy your blog, especially the part about you starting to develop more of your names. Im on the same boat as not having much experience but I am learning from you and hope to start developing some of mine out as well.

  7. Good looking website and you raised the bar one more time. I was wondering when you were going to change Lowell.com to look more like Burbank.com. Now we will have to figure out how it works. It will be a challenge to even come close to what you have developed. We all enjoy your blog; your websites and I wish you well in 2009 . . . Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 🙂

  8. Few observations:
    1) Remove commas from web site title. You are wasting spaces… from search perspective.
    2) Description: Write the description with all the first letters in capital. Remove the commas and concentrate on the first 185 spaces. Use the words inter-changebly..
    3) Keywords: First letter of every word starts with a capital letter.
    4) Use underscores, not hyphens Correct = /real_estate
    5) On your title, stop repeating lowell.com – Please attempt to utilize that space for keywords with five or six or more characters. ( It’ll avoid using words as and, the, it)
Good Luck and Felices Pascuas. Geoffrey
