I was very surprised to receive such a large check in the mail a couple of days ago. Thanks to Brian Gilbert for following through on his word and sending me the money he owed plus interest…
It’s too bad the bank said there were not sufficient funds in the account.
Now Elliot…that is no Shoemoney check…but you should keep it on your home page anyway…:)
Ha. I have $2.84 check from the government in a frame in my living room. It is very colorful and pretty and worth way more than $2.84 to me.
Backstory?
OH MY GOD, that is the funniest thing ever! Its totally something that Brian (or Charlotte) would do! I agree with Anthony, you should keep it up on your home page.
You should take it to the bank just to see if they would take it.
Of course Bank of America never would b/c they suck at everything, but any other bank might.
Matbe you can put it towards a new hat π
Just so everyone is aware of how truly generous I am, the memo field says “I doubled the amount owed to cover late fees”. π
That is a big check!
BTW, I need to shuffle some funds around. The check should be good on Monday.
It would be great to see employees’ faces if you took that to the bank π
Because I wanted to make sure Brian could cover his debt to Elliot, I was willing to sacrifice my date night meal of Taco Bell to make sure he got paid…
If anyone has the opportunity to do business with the Gilberts, Charlie is the person with whom you want to deal. She’ll bust your chops like it’s nobody’s business, but she’s the brains behind the operation… and she can drink Brian under the table.
“sheβs the brains behind the operation”…..hence the insufficient funds. If I ran the accounts, the check would’ve cleared. π
This post made my day! Thank you Brian for your sense of humor and thank you Elliot for sharing it with the world. You guys are too much!
Elliot: it’s time to shave. π
What did you buy with that
Wad-o-Cash.net ??

LMAO!
Typical Brian and Charlie π
Thats why everyone loves you guys so much. Elliot, dont spend it all at once. They may send you another one!
I say frame it, it may have a value when it gets old as an antique π
I bet you the paper and ink only cost more than $3.84 π
Hi Elliot,
That looks like my social security check but it is a little more
than the government can send me right now.
Good Luck with that Social Security I am booking a room at the soup kitchen.

I got a check from Yahoo last year, and the funny part about it is that they mailed me a check for …$0.00! I took a picture and posted it on facebook for a chuckle!.
