Afternic is currently holding its annual Spring auction on the Snapnames platform. At the time of this article, 20 of the auctions have bids, and there are just over three days remaining in the auction (ends Friday, March 22). There are 137 domain names up for auction, and many have reasonable reserve prices.
My top five domain name picks for the Afternic auction include:
- GFA.com (met reserve)
- HuntingSupply.com
- RewardsPrograms.com
- CeramicTileFloor.com
- VGV.com
As a head’s up and to give sort of a disclaimer, I might participate in the auction.
The domain names in auction are all NameMedia-owned. This is good to know because if you like a domain name that doesn’t meet reserve or otherwise goes unsold, you can probably reach out to them or a broker from Moniker after the auction to try and work out a deal.
The auction ends in just a few days, so check it out when you have a chance.
Elliot,
Do you think 3 letter domain names are easier to flip than other names?
Depending on the price, yes. However, there’s probably more risk on a 3 letter domain name than on a keyword domain name. Even though you would probably be able to defend ownership of a 3 letter domain name, a UDRP could set you back $5,000+, so you need to be vigilant with what is displayed on the landing page and what buyers approach you.
