NameJet Holding No Reserve .TV Auction

I just noticed that NameJet is advertising a large .TV domain auction. Backorders for the domain names must be placed by June 10th, and I assume standard auction rules will apply. There is no reserve price on any of the auctions, so you can feel free to start your bidding for as little as $1.

  1. They are selling for big dollars but it is all just hush-hush as they keep acquiring.

Wish I could say more. 🙂

  2. @ Robert

LLL.com might be considered “super premium”. Every other extension not so much.

Low quality LLL in virtually every extensions outside the Big 3 (COM/NET/ORG) are normally worthless.

Of the domains on the list I like Safari.TV and MLM.TV the most.

  3. .TV sales are somewhat random. One can obtain better keyword quality at a lower price in .TV but buyers have .COM so ingrained into their psyche that even great keyword .TV domains often are not considered as alternatives to pricey .COMs.

That said since the fall I have closed several ~$1k or greater .TV sales none of which appeared on DNJ.

  4. Imo most of these aren’t particularly great. The best ones are possibly safari and wacky.

There is some UDRP fodder here too, most notably E4 .

Its true that .tv seems to be getting hot, I personally know of $1k+ deals happening almost daily under the radar.
I own over a dozen ‘premium’ LLL .tv’s so I’ll be watching this auction with interest.

  5. The .tv market seems to be significantly weaker than the landrush period last year. It is back to occasional sales and uninspiring prices. I would be expect much from this auction.

  6. I like .tv’s and will be activly bidding on 5 of the names listed. i have found small business’s and non domainer end ussers seem a little curious lately about non .coms in particular the .tv and .me extensions. I recently purchased newcar.tv and newcars.tv and feel fortunate to have accuired them. I even hand registered ElectionDay.tv and ElectionResults.tv this yr and have been approached by more than one media group asking for a price.

Personally I’m glad that the domain community in general still mostly ignores .tv

    Have a great day
    Phil

  7. .TV has been extremely quiet for me – no end user sales since February 09.

I have a rather good portfolio of names…..with zero action.

  8. Elliot:

Hot in what way? I haven’t seen any/many notable .TV sales recently. Whay am I missing?

    ———————————————–

There is a steady stream of $x,xxx+ .tv sales that hardly get seen by most domainers since few domainers blogs talk of .tv ext.

Here is some from last week or two:
Arabia.tv sold for 8000 EUR ($11,500 approx) at Sedo
    Rec.tv $5,000
    IBet.tv $1,300
    Valencia.tv 5000 euros
    MyCam.tv $1,250!
    Romance.tv at $7,000!
    Adventure $6,000
    1p.tv $5,000

Many more sales but theres a few to give you some insight into .tv’s sales.

My vie won .tv is that it’s difficult to flip domains regularly in forums/blog in domainer to domainer deals unlike some other more liquid ext’s But there is very good ROI on buying decent .tv’s & waiting on / finding buyers.

More of a longterm investment than buy to flip but theres some seriously good ROI’s being made by .tv owners who invested in good domains when they could be bought at low prices unlike now.

  9. Yes there are lot’s of big sales in .tv. I just sold one for myself, for a 4000% ROI. It’s a NDA though. Have 4-5 offers pending as well. Many people have told me I own the #1 .tv portfolio in the world as well.

  10. “There is a steady stream of $x,xxx+ .tv sales that hardly get seen by most domainers since few domainers blogs talk of .tv ext.”

    /////////////////

I wouldn’t call it a steady stream, dnjournal reports 1-2 .tv sales a week and that level is no different to 2 years ago, it is comparable to .info, .biz, .cc etc. In regard to the people talking about NDA’s that is true of every extension.

  11. Most of the .tv domains we’ve purchased in the past 2 years have never been publicly reported.

I’m thrilled that the .com gang disses .tv. I used to be a .com groupie…then saw the light about 2 years ago.
