Snapnames .TV Auction Ends Soon

6

.TV auctionThe Snapnames / Moniker .TV auction that is being run in conjunction with Mashable (which started during the SXSW conference), is coming to a conclusion today. I listed my favorite domain names in this auction in a previous post.

It’s impressive to me that so many of the names in auction (around 75%) have received bids. I am pretty surprised that the bids aren’t higher since we’re talking about many 2 and 3 letter  domain names. I don’t really follow the .TV market much since I don’t own any .TV domain names (to my knowledge), but the prices seem very low to me at this juncture.

With just about two hours remaining in the auction, here are the auctions with current bids (see the site for updated bids):

I’m a little surprised to not see any geo domains for sale in the list.

I was very surprised by the prices but happy as well. I am not normally a .TV buyer, but I picked up 4 very good LL.tv domains today in the auction for what I think were very cheap prices.

    MW.tv
    LL.tv
    VI.tv
    LM.tv

Particuarly, LL.TV – there are only 26 double letters available.

.TV has been pretty well adopted worldwide. It’s huge in Latin America where I live.

Anyhow, we shall see, but I’m happy with my purchase…

I was bidding one on of those Andrew mentioned and a few others not mentioned. I figured if the big .TV pushers weren’t bidding big numbers, I wasn’t going to spend a bunch of money on a long term gamble. IMO, the $5k I almost spent would be better spent on a .com name that I can flip quickly than a few LL.tv names that may take a long time to sell.

I hope Andrew does well with them though.

I got PHP.TV and VN.TV for 350/1050 – my first ever .TV’s. The best deal of the day was FAX.TV for $500 imo – a possible new tech or new app of an old tech. I did not see that the first time around. In a year or two, every buyer from this auction will be a winner. Prices were too good to not get in.
