The “Winner” Is…

I want to thank everyone who took the time to post a comment in my blog post about trying to help someone buy a domain name to sell to an end user. I think that post had more comments than just about any other post I’ve written. I apologize for the delay in announcing this, but I’ve had a lot of emails that needed attention after my trip.

I don’t really want to say “winner” because it’s not a competition, but I can’t really think of a more appropriate term for the person who was randomly selected. I will hopefully be able to work with this person individually using our combined knowledge and experience to register a domain name that will be coveted by an end user buyer, and if things work out, the name(s) will sell for a few hundred dollars. At the very least, this person will learn how I research potential acquisitions and then find buyers for them.

Without further interruption, the person who was selected is Alan Patrick. I will be sending Alan an email tomorrow morning to let him know personally about this, and I look forward to begin working on this early next week.

  1. Congrats Alan and good luck with the sale
Elliot, how about a 2nd place winner.
With a portfolio dating back to 1996 we
are sure you can dust off these names and reveal some cash!!

  2. Great stuff, congrats to Alan. I hope you guys can do a nice fat sale.

This will be very interesting to hear about; hopefully you’ll be blogging about it, either during the process or after the deed is done.

  3. WOW!!!!!!!!! I was thrilled beyond words to have received Eliots e-mail tonight!! If there is one thing I always wanted and that was to be able to make a part-time income selling domain names and I guess I’m going to learn from a pro!!!!!!!!!

Tonight when I came home I did some research on the next hot drug, Flibaserin which is going to be the “new female viagra” and found out that the brand name chosen for it is going to be either “Girosa” or “Ectris” so I registered all 3 and got about 15 names ready for 2011 or 2012. (expected year(s) of FDA approval) I had an email from a woman asking if I wanted to sell freeflibaserin.com and I said no because It is impossible to put a value on it at this time. I just want to give all of you guys a “headsup” and let you know that there are still a lot of good .coms left if you use your imagination. If you register at Go Daddy, use the code cjc689fat and get your .com for only $7.07
Well, ya all will be hearing from me soon in Eliots blog and I’m eager to share, and likewise eager to listen to new ideas and trends, by doing so, WE ARE ALL WINNERS!!!!

    Thanks guys,

    Alan Patrick

  4. Guys and Gals,
On an earlier post I was writing about the new viagra for women, I think I spelled flibanserin as flibaserin………..
the correct name for this drug is F-L-I-B-A-N-S-E-R-I-N.
    Thanks,
    Alan P

    • @ Alan

Those aren’t really the types of names I would buy and I am excited to work with you starting next week. BTW… I like your excitement 🙂

  5. Hi Alan, May I venture a suggestion? Quit buying trademark names! Coka Cola, Nike, NY Times, and pharmaceuticals! Generics okay, but hard to find. If you can find a good generic, that is what it is all about.

  6. It’s been a few months now, hoping for an update on this. It seems like an interesting experiment we can all learn from.

    Elliot? Alan Patrick?
