WeddingPlanning.com on Ebay

I don’t know the buyer or anything about the domain names, but it appears that WeddingPlanning.com, WeddingPlanning.net and WeddingPlanning.org are being offered for sale on Ebay with a Buy It Now price of $150,000 – which I think is great considering the keywords. There is also a “make offer” option as well, in the event you would like to submit an offer under $150k.

Wedding planning is a large industry, and it can be very profitable for luxury weddings.   I also saw that the seller is selling EventPlanning.com, EventPlanning.net and EventPlanning.org in another auction.

  1. Those are great names but in today’s economy I doubt the seller will get anywhere near the asking price.

I would expect that they would sell for $20,000-30,000 and not much more.

Perhaps I am completely wrong but just don’t see them selling.

  2. I dont see these names above 50 k with the market we have at the moment.

IMO, 1 converted lead can pay for this, but more likely, 5 leads will pay it off. It will make a wedding planning professional THE wedding planning professional.

  3. I think it is a reasonable price – not that I’m bidding.

    I purchased tons of Wedding-related domains two years ago – I got BanquetFacilities.com for $10K, BanquetRoom.com for $2K, EventCatering.com for $2,000, PortraitPhotographers.com for $2,500 which I thought were steals.

  4. I agree with E on this one. The price is reasonable and in just a few leads or ads, you would have it paid off. It would be interesting to see what kind of traffic the site is currently getting. Despite the economy, the wedding business is pretty cutthroat and the sales people are still going to be aggressive, maybe even more so now.

  5. Elliot,

I know someone in the wedding planning/photography space who ranks in the top 3 in google for a variety of ‘competitive’ terms. I can tell you first hand that there is not as much money in that business as one might think. 🙂

I see that the google estimator tool shows about 200K results for the main term too, so I think that anyone who pays 150K for these domains is giving the seller a good deal!
