What Is Your Favorite Domain Name You Own?

A regular reader and contributor named Todd offered a blog post suggestion that I thought was good. Todd suggested,

“Why don’t you have a post where each person submits one of their favorite domains and then let the readers give their thoughts on each one. ย  I think it would help many people understand what makes a good domain by letting people critique the entries.”

I would imagine most domain investors have a favorite domain name that they own. I think it’s good to get feedback about a domain name from third parties who don’t have a vested interest in the domain name. I invite you to offer a critique of domain names listed in the comment section by visitors and to list your own favorite domain name. The one rule is that the domain name you list must be owned by you or a company you control.

My personal favorite domain name owned by my company is Lilac.com. I ย think Lilac.com is a versatile ย domain name that could be used by a company in any number of industries. Lilac.com is short, has a dual meaning (color and flower), and is a friendly/positive term. One potential knock is that it is more of a feminine sounding brand, although that is also an attribute. At this point, I am content to wait until the right (6 figure) offer comes around to part with this domain name.

I invite you to critique my favorite domain name and post your favorite domain name for others to give feedback.

One thing to keep in mind with this article. People will post their comments with their opinions. People can be brutal sometimes. You might really like a particular domain name, and others will hate it. If you may have concerns about what other people might say about a particular domain name, it’s best not to list it.

  1. LondonPeriodontist.com In a city of 8 million where a periodontist makes 300K to 500K a year I have the name. Not generic but a great semi “Geo” name.

  2. NYAM.COM

Nyam simply means “to eat” and is a term mostly used in Jamaica, Africa and throughout Asia. I’m from Jamaica and love to cook, so I would say this is my favorite. I also like bolt.org for it’s versatility.

  3. My favorite is a tie between Petable.com and SlimeMonster.com.

I like Petable.com because I am a dog lover and who else doesn’t doesn’t love their petable pets? I also like this name because it could be branded as “Pet Able dot com” which is a play on words that I think could be a great brand for a veterinary company or franchise.

I like SlimeMonster.com just because as a child of the 80’s I grew up with all the splashy “rubber latex and slime” monster movies (think Gremlins, Aliens, etc.) and so it has some sentimental value to me, although I don’t expect it willl be a killer name that a Fortune 500 company would want to buy.

  4. Right now mine is:

    Graphene.net

Had this one for 11 years before Graphene was even a thing. I still don’t know how the guy who owns the .com knew about this science 4 years previous to me

  5. Lilac has great brand potential.. It just sounds right, easy to remember..etc. I don’t think it sounds feminine.. Can go either way and be used for anything from insurance to tech and more…

    • Nyam.com a nice domain name Rory, nice brandable too. I would hold on to this if I was you. Oh I am Jamaican too. Big up yourself Rory. Bless.

    • Very good name.Eating is most important human requirement.

      My own favourite is YEEAT.COM

      ( Thyox.com is not far behind )

    • Greetings

At present my favourite is JOCUNDLY.COM Besides I also like YELEND.COM

      SMARTGALORE.COM LADGAMES.COM and PAUNCHIER.COM

About my previous 2 domains YEEAT.COM and THYOX.COM I want to sell them

immediately if a good offer is made.

  6. One of my favorite names is PerthHomes.com – Perth is the fourth most populous city in Australia with a population of almost 2 million.

  7. I have a new favorite about every week but my favorite this week is LightShow.com If all goes well then it will be someone else’s favorite in the next couple weeks.

  8. Nyam.com

Nyam simply means to eat and is a term mostly used in Jamaica and throughout parts of Africa and Asia. I love to cook and I’m from Jamaica.

    • When choosing 5 letters that end in a vowel most of the time A is best choice, O is second choice, I is third choice, U would normally be your fourth choice unless it ends in E and is a single syllable pronunciation then 4th and 5th choice could switch sometimes. This is why it is very easy to find 5 letter domains that end in U because they are most of the time the least valued and no one normally wants them unless they are very catchy. Obviously throw all this out the window if it’s a real word.

  9. Healthcare domains being so in these days, my “favorite” would have to be alivio dotcom. So many companies use it in their URLs.

  10. “Exiar.com” is my favorite domain name and I will let you know why …

This domain can only serve to one company: EXIAR.ru (the biggest russian insurance company half private / half public dealing over all with russian imports/exports insurances. The good think is they already offered $150K for this name. The bad think (for them) is they are far away from my asking price $2,500,000 USD.
    This is my retirement.

    • I seriously hope that you are joking and IF not I feel that you missed the boat if you did not take a more than fair $150k offer for a trademarked domain as such.

    • ^ agree with above.

And if you really got a 150K offer, for you to publicly display that you are squatting on this name is suicide.

      Take their offer and sprint!

    • The trademark was filed in 2012 and still in process. (Source: UNIBRANDER.com)
“EXIAR.com was registered 2009 so the only thing they can do is PAY $2,500,000
or .SUCKS (Exiar.sucks) They are deep, deep pockets so if they want the PREMIUM
I only sell for $2,500,000 (any outher offers will be disconsidered). as I sad before this is my “retirement”.

    • Iยดm NOT squating on this name. They are squating. I registered the domain 3 years before the filed the trademark, so think a bit …

    • Then my apologies. I stand corrected.

Best of luck with it. You may actually have a good chance in making this your retirement ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • on the safer side.. u register a small company named EXIAR…float an website and then sell EXIAR.com by arranging somebody with a percentage share to your small company named EXIAR… if any case UDRP decision goes against you they have to pay the sum of the latest price of acquiring EXIAR.com, in case of trademark right… just read the – VW.qa case filed and won by Volkswagen

      http://www.thedomains.com/2015/03/10/two-letter-domain-lost-in-udrp-bought-as-part-of-a-1m-domain-portfolio-purchase-in-2014/

    • Not only they filed the trademark in 2012.
      Their company “born” in 2012.
So my domain is 3 years older than their business.

    • They might just purchase .exiar for $185K the next round than pay you $2.5M, if it was a real word that could be resold for generic purposes, and rebranded maybe $2.5M, otherwise they made you a fair offer.

    • Many people think that to run a new gTLD extension cost only $185,000 USD and thatยดs not true. $185K is just the ICANN application fee; the total cost of running a new gTLD extension may be several millions of USD. A registrar/registry licenses and infrastructure cost millions. Even if they apply for .EXIAR they will run their business without the KING: “Exiar.com” (<<< type-in-traffic goes here)

    • “Mera.com” (brandable domain) just sold for $132,500 USD as reported by DnJournal.com today; So brandable domain names reach 6 figures too.

    • Your comment is typical of how some in the media wrongly try to portray domain investors to the general public.

I think your full of it. I doubt you’d risk your retirement just for bragging rights. Bad faith intent is not always black and white, Right and Wrong. Most people Experienced in this industry would think it was moronic to refuse a 150k on a name you said doesn’t mean anything to anyone but that company. Saying you want 2.5 million LOL, . Well I call bullshit, The only thing your comment accomplishes is defaming the domain name investing community.

The 4 anonymous replies to you that are giving you very bad advice lack common sense or are on bullshit too.

    • If you hevenยดt seen, this is a post about someoneยดs favorite domain name. Iยดm talking about my favorite domain not about the domain investors community. Got it ?

    • You just shot on your own foot with this post!. If Exiar uses this information; say good bye to your retirement!!!.

Also, there are domains lost in URDP not becuase the date registered, but the date “RENEWED”.

One more nail in your coffin: You have the site for sale now and not developed ($750K – asking) Why advertise it? If you only have one buyer who can buy.

If I were you, I’d ask Elliot to remove your “stupid” mistake (business don’t have feelings), and start developing the site. Investigate a way to defend your domain.

Exiar may have deep pockets, but also good legal advise. You just proved the opposite, little money and little brain. I hope you find this useful, then we will see Exion in the hall of shame if they loose the URDP, other wise you will find yourself in very expensive litigation trying to recover your “retirement”.

      Good luck.

    • Since Exiar offered to buy his domain already and failed, there is no chance they can prevail in a subsequent UDRP. Just saying.

    • โ€œcyber squattingโ€ is a very relative and delicate termโ€ฆ.e.g if u register Apple.com and Apple Inc. claims u r โ€œcyber squattingโ€ r u?
Actually and factually Apple Inc canโ€™t even claim for AppleInc.comโ€ฆ. but yes they can claim for AppleIncUSXXXX.com ( USXXXX โ€“ assumed Applesโ€™ unique trademark registration no.)
Recently Apple got AppleID.com in UDRPโ€ฆ.
If that is the case then all those domains sold, selling or will be sold are CYBER SQUATTEDโ€ฆโ€ฆ

โ€œThere is no patent. Could you patent the sun?โ€ Dr.Jonas Salk,

โ€œApart from the atomic bomb, Americaโ€™s greatest fear was polio.โ€
His sole focus had been to develop a safe and effective vaccine as rapidly as possible, with no interest in personal profit. When asked who owned the patent to it, Salk said, โ€œThere is no patent. Could you patent the sun?โ€

Internet also canโ€™t be patented, could u!

  11. My favorite is a tie between Registration.website and Autoinsurance.company . Registration.website is my ecomerce store front serving clients in Toronto. Autoinsurance.company has received over 11 offers, but I am in to wait for some cool digits. Until then cheers friends & investors. Thanks Elliot.

  12. Personally my favorite domain among the little portfolio that I own is: PubsVegas.com
    Equally favorite is CommercialGain(s).com!

    What’s your take on these?

Offers being accepted on these ๐Ÿ˜‰

  13. One of my favorites now is cribbuddy.com.
Babies are born every minute and they all have a crib.
babies love little stuffed bunnies and teddy bears to cuddle with and those battery operated pin wheels you attach to the side of the crib, also baby blankets.

  14. Looks like it’s going to be a popular post.

I really enjoy finding gems with handregs so 5 minutes ago I registered for only $1.99

    AeroOutlet.com

It could be a airplane sales site, avionics equipment, pilot supplies, kites, gliders etcโ€ฆโ€ฆanything air related.

    • I was trying to choose one from my portfolio but I realized I really don’t have a true favorite. I chose to list this name because I really like names that can become a business offline as much as online and would like to add more of this style to my list. Let me know your thoughts on this style name.

  15. I got a few favorites…

    First, CanadaSex.ca , it s a money cow.

Second, LasVegas.media and Baseball.media (both for sale)

And for last, my favorite… Z.quebec

  16. Lilac.com is definitely a gem. I can see this being used by a big brand for something non related to it’s definition (color or plant). To the right end user definitely a possible six figure sale.

The only downside could be that it would have lots of typo possibilities ie. lilack.com, lylac.com, lielac.com, etc. But other than that it’s a gem.

The name that I own that I like the most at the moment is IoTy.com for (IoT – Internet of Things) We’re probably still a year or two from IoT being a mainstream term so I don’t expect my name to receive offers till then.

But when the time comes I know it’ll have six figure potential to an IoT company.

    • AnYthing you can think of! ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s a brandable name so it’s a play off of the IoT term.

It’s the same pronounciation but without the high price tag of IoT.com which is 2.8M.

    • IoTy.com registered in 2003, my 1st registration was in 2014… but better late than never…. it’s fun though. u said ” Weโ€™re probably still a year or two from IoT being a mainstream term so I donโ€™t expect my name to receive offers till then “… so i will be waiting ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Internet of Things is already being referred to as iThings. No one will bother saying iot except techies. As such, I have iThings.ca, iThingsStore.com, iThingsReviews.com, iThingsPlanet.com, iThingsWorld.com, iThingsList.com, BuyiThings.com and ShopiThings.com

  17. My favorite is smartwatches.buzz

Of course, I wish it was just a .com but I think these are one of the best that I own at the moment.

This is a great idea – hope you continue to do it on a regular basis.

  18. I have a lot of favorites, but this one, a recent $.99 reg, seems appropriate for a “disruptive” company.

    veerz.com

  19. My favourite is 1066.com, which is the most famous year in English history and matches up with my surname.

  20. My favourite is Starchitecture.com

Starchitects refers to architects whose celebrity status have transformed them into idols of the architecture world and have given them some degree of fame amongst the general public. Examples of world famous celebrity starchitects are Norman Foster, Frank Gehry, Tadao Ando, Zaha Hadid etc.

I received few offers from architect companies in US, Germany, UK etc, but waiting for big numbers.

Architecture.com was sold for $190,000 in year 2000.

An interesting article if you are interested, “Battle of the skies: London and New York compete for starchitects”
    http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/architecture/battle-of-the-skies-london-and-new-york-compete-for-starchitects-10063076.html

  21. With the proliferation of GoPro and other related mobile video photography business models and accessories along with abc.go and other streaming video broadcasts, my entire suite of videogo.com, videogo.org, videogo.us, videogo.biz, and videogo.net seems to offer synergistic value for today’s most popular media platforms.

  22. I think my current favorite is PropertyPrices .com

In UK at least there is lots of very big companies who track property sales & data. Most of the big property websites also have websites & apps to track latest property prices.

  23. Of course, Lilac.com is good. One weakness: might not pass the radio test with flying colors (excuse the pun). Lilac is a tad “high falutin'” of word. It’s not that common. I’d think your average American might not know how to spell that word with certainty. They might tack on a “k” — Lilack.com.

  24. I’d say one of my favorites, is one of my first regs –
    DreamBelieveAchieve.com.
Just love the message it conveys. Eventually I hope to get it developed out into a nice inspirational and motivational website.

  25. I don’t have a favorite in my portfolio because I try to be as unemotional with my investment domain names as possible. That said, I just bought a name today that is my favorite name of the day:

    SmartProjectors.com

  26. I would think Seasteader.com, would be one of my favorite names. Probably not worth much now, but perhaps in the future. Thank you

  27. I would want to get my forum username, not sure what I’d do with it though ๐Ÿ™‚ Somethings I want to have for the sake of having.

  28. I have a couple.

Newsgazine. com – Great for a news site (News Magazine)- brand-able

PrimeTLDs. com – Quite descriptive. A go-to site for all TLDs resources

BlingInsurance. com – Perfect for companies offering jewelry insurance.

BBanker. com – Can be Business Banker, Blood Banker etc.

MexicoFlats. com – Targets Mexico real estate sector.

NR37. com – Fit for anything

  29. Two of mine are USwindIndustry.com and USsolarIndustry.com. I would think with alternative energy needs becoming more necessary, these names have some value.

  30. Noel.tv because it means “Christmas” in french and that there’s 5M Google searches on december. Movies, Tv and live shows, Decoration videos and more. Just the perfect domain name for the most profitable holiday on earth!

  31. I love “future-tech” domains and one of the faves from my portfolio is:

    HologramMedia.com

There are plenty of .com historicals with ‘media’ as a second keyword and with holographic technology emerging, I look forward to finding a great home for this name.

    Robert James
    StrategyNaming.com

  32. Late to the game here, but my favorite at the moment is InstaDoctor.com

Also, my two hand regs of the week – elderlifts.com and elderlift.com!

  33. One of the favorite domain I own is Womenz.com. I acquired it in pending delete auction in four figures. Menz.com sold for $19,000 and these days good one words ending with z has great demand, especially on Flippa platform.

    • Andrea, did you see today that Flippa changed the way people can bid over 5k to get rid of bogus buyers.
If you remember my idea and your idea that we talked about on marks site, it’s about the same.
      Where is Mark Hershiser anyway.

    • Brand, yes I remember our ideas, good ones indeed! ๐Ÿ™‚
Mark is busy working on other projects, mainly about domains and also in a radio.
Blogging was too time consuming for him, and I totally agree in his case, better focus on profitable businesses …

    • SBasu, funny you like fickled.com i had owned that domain at one time.
That was a domain a guy bought from me for 5k on godaddy THEN NEVER PAID FOR IT.
SBasu, i’m NO PRO, just a nut that likes Domaining and follows it closely.

    • Eddie, that’s a fantastic name! I’m in grad school and take web-proctored exams with a company called Examity all the time. Hit them up and see if they’re interested in scoring Webexam.com, for a nice price of course!

  34. Hi everybody. I’m very new to domaining and have started to put a portfolio together… My favourite name is Fede.xxx as my brother is called Frederic Xander, Fede X to his mates.. :::):)

  35. onlineaccount.net used to be my favorite. kind of wondering how my hold strategy will play out with .online and now .net kind of looks old.

  36. Lilac.com is clearly a fabulous domain, most definitely worth $xxx, xxx now. Your one concern about it may really be just an example of how we simply tend to be our own harshest critics and have the most interest and concern regarding our own assets, as I do not view that as a concern at all.

  37. P.S. I feel that people are probably so familiar with the word “Lilac” that spelling and the “radio test” are not an issue either. That certainly applies to me.

  38. Some nice names posted here, great idea for a blog post.

My favorite name is soil dot com.

. Not my video but very enlightening…

Of course Lilac.com & Strawberry.com are excellent names. TeAmo.com is also desirable.

  39. My favorite name I own is: Pizza.us
Not the most valuable domain I own, but just a personal favorite.
.us domains never really took off, but maybe one day.

    • P.S. If .US were where it should be, that would be quite a killer domain. It’s still worth no less than $xx,xxx to $xxx, xxx right now, though. I’ve sold far worse .US for $xx,xxx already, including recently.

    • P.P.S. And .US I’ve sold for $xx,xxx recently has even been multiple words, not even a category killer single word like yours, which I have a nice group of as well. Just replied to an offer on one of my less desirable ones with $50K in fact.

    • P.P.P.S. Also sold a *three-word* .US based on an unsolicited inquiry for $5K not long ago, perhaps less than a year still.

    • Honestly, Scott, when you consider the national market for pizza in this country, the size of the industry, the competition, and what has really been the norm in marketing and advertising which we all probably witness every day or every week, even with the neglect and near unawareness of .US among the public still, the true value of Pizza.us is not less than $xxx, xxx. Five figures would merely be a substantial bargain level well below real market value in the event someone simply wanted to unload it that way for some reason.

    • Hi Mike – I’m just the guy who had some good fortune. The one I sold for $xx,xxx was also from an unsolicited inquiry that came in out of the blue. I wound up with an extremely motivated buyer-broker who worked on me for quite a while over it on behalf of their mystery client. We even had some “turbulence” occur in the relationship until completion. It was unusual, and no one has even made a run for my most valuable ones for quite a while now. If .US finally gets some long overdue promotion and increased public awareness, however, perhaps that may finally change for all of us who invested in .US. Even Rick Schwartz has previously written about not ruling out the rise of .US, even before I did so publicly on the domain blogs.

    • John, I did not hear the outcome of that. If you come across it, please let me know. I will do the same. Most importantly, thank you for your reply. I do agree that if the .US extensions had any real merit behind them, this would be a valuable killer name. I have seen a few low $XX,XXX sales over the past few years. I’m holding out for an end user on this one. No rush to sell it.

    • Pizza.us is so good even under the circumstances involving .US that it’s truly end user treasure. Nowadays you can order pizza online – I did for the first time recently. Pizza.us could be a national monster domain for that.

    • >”If you donโ€™t mind me asking…”

I certainly don’t mind at all, Scott, and I would ask, too, though I was afraid someone would. ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope you don’t mind either that I had already decided I didn’t want to say much more, including that part. I haven’t done nearly as well in the domain investing arena as many others have, so there are some things I feel I have to keep under wraps because I’m ten million miles behind folks who have done well with it. In fact, I’ve even become primarily a publisher instead as a result, but I still want to score a few wins in domain investing if I can perhaps manage to eke out a few advantages the domain whales and sharks don’t gobble up first. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • John, I completely understand. It’s important to keep things under wraps. I do appreciate you taking the time to respond and I only hope it’s a matter of time until the .us take off. Congrats again on your sale. I may consider developing it, but never developed a .us before. Will be my first. I wish you much success it the domain game!

    • Great names Henry! Soccer.us/Futbol.us combination is very nice. Wallstreet.us also an amazing name. I’m just waiting for the day for the .us’s to finally take off. I recently picked up a few more one word quality .us domains and I’m still looking to buy if anyone is interested in selling.

    • Scott, email me I own so many that you maybe interested in. email is henry at alvarido.com put on the subject line .us domains

      Henry

    • Hi Henry-just saw your post we own LaFutbol.com as an investment-hopefully for a major team in the future. As you probably know Futbol.com sold for $1.7million so best of luck with your Futbol.us it’s a great name.

    • Thank you John for that information. I just developed only weeks ago USSports.com. I am hoping to making USSports.com into a more valuable property.

I do think that owning Futbol.us with Soccer.us very valuable for a media company in the U. S. with all the Spanish Futbol fans here.

    • Elliot, from your experience, what kind of value do dot .us domains hold? I’m thinking about 1% of the dot com’s value? Is that a valid valuation? Has there been any research done about this that you are aware of?

    • Dot US name suck. I had some excellent single word premium ones — ones that would be worth tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars if com — but I ended up just letting almost every one go.

Early on way back in my domaining career, I sold roommates.us for $10,000 out of the blue. So I bought more. But alas, nothing, it was just one lucky sale.

    • Scott it is all about the keyword and the end user. This year there was a $10,000 sale CaliforniaPoker.us number 100 on http://dnjournal.com/ytd-sales-charts.htm

      2014 there was Pling.us for $16,300 number 92 http://dnjournal.com/archive/domainsales/2014/2014-top-100–sales-charts.htm

      2013 there was Band.us for $20,200 number 52 http://dnjournal.com/archive/domainsales/2013/2013-top-100-sales-charts.htm

      2012 there was Beats.us for $18,000 number 95 and Bitcoin.us $17,500 number 97 http://dnjournal.com/archive/domainsales/2012/2012-top-100-sales-charts.htm

I know that there are many in the $1,000 to $5,000 that are never reported since I have had some. I turned down a $10,000 offer for Mp3.us this year. So the .us sell but only very good keywords and one and two word .us domains. WallStreet.us is a two word .us and I think value is in the $25,000 range, Computers.us is also in that range.

    • Mark,

I have owned .com domains for 16 years and have not sold them, this doesn’t mean that the domain sucks, all it means is that the right end user has not come your way. I own some great .com domains from USSports.com, WorldBanker.com, WhatsOnline.com, MiracleMile.com and many more which I have owned for 15 years or more. They are all valuable .com domains.

It is all about the end user wanting the domain name. I sold one at the end of 2014 that I thought that it would take years to sell FutbolMania.com and sold it for $20,000. In this business you can’t say which one will sell tomorrow. Great keyword .us domains will sell just like any of the other top level TLD’s.

    • Wow Henry, thank you for the list. You do make a very valid point. All about the end user who is willing to pay. I have received some low ball offers, but figure it’s worth holding out. The price I paid is so small compared to the potential profit that it’s worth the renewal fees. Mp3.us is a great name, so is wallstreet. I recently picked up about a half dozen (amazing domains in my eyes) one word .us names for cheap. I may just put up small wordpress sites on them and along with a “for sale” sign on the sites hoping to attract end users who are searching. I own probably 5 .us domains that would be worth millions if they were .com’s so hoping for the right people to come along. Just a waiting game

    • Scott, If it is developed the value may go up. When I was searching for sports feeds for USSports.com website I found that one of the largest feed companies is using a .us can you believe it! sportradar.us

    • That’s great…a developed .us is always nice to see. Especially one that dominates it’s niche. Gives me the glint of hope I’m looking for. When I’m driving with my wife, she always points out billboards that have .us websites on them. I’m starting to see more local businesses use them.

I’m still buying them up if anyone else has any one word .us names. Whois pizza.us for email address.

      Thank you Henry!

  40. My favorite domain is Tortillas.com

Tortillas are not just a staple food in Mexico and other Latin American countries but are extremely popular in the US and Canada (The second most popular packaged bread product in the US).

Tortillas are also popular and are gaining popularity in other Regions around the world including Western/Eastern Europe (UK, Russia …), Asia (China, Japan …) Africa and the Middle East.

The Meaning of the word “tortillas” is the same and Spelled the same all over the World which makes Tortillas.com Internationally Brand-able.

  41. WebScreens.com is my Favorite Domain Name !

The Domain Name Says and Speaks the Internet !

    Great for Streaming VIDEO MOVIES,

    Generic Name For WebSites !

    FOR SALE !

  42. My favorite domain name is Be.tv. In light of the popularity of GoPros and smartphone cameras and the abundance of selfie videos, it seems that the the time has come for a proper destination.

We are at a point in time where we are no longer relegated to simply watching TV. I imagine, soon, we can be TV at Be.tv, the ultimate destination for a true reality television channel.

  43. Sure Lilac.com is a very good name, short, the domain score is more than 3, and search volume is 49,500. My favorite domain is Cudeta.com even the domain score and search volume is so low

  44. One of my favorite domains:

    MedicalVacationPackages.Com

anticipating trend (buying future like Rick Schwartz did) toward medical vacations to reduce out of pocket costs of major medical + dental procedures in well respected countries both near US and Europe. Costa Rica, Eastern Europe, India favored by many savvy travelers.

Affordable Procedure + Vacation nice combo.

  45. I can’t pick just one. I’d say it’s a tie between these guys at the moment:

    needle.exchange
    bitcrimes.com
    classifieds.band
    Psychedelics.club
    roms.io

  46. Slouch.com and RecruitingAgencies.com top my list today. Yesterday it was different. Tomorrow might be different.

  47. In a great country of over 1,200,000,000 population, I’m glade to own a few best of Hindi domains. Listed is an english translation:

    SHOP.INDIA
    SHOPPING.INDIA

But Joe do you believe, we can ever cash in on these domains ?

  48. My favorite domain is the one for my websiteSURREALestate.com. I’ve had it since 1997, and although I haven’t done anything big with it, I still keep it even though it doesn’t make me any money. About 10 years ago, I was offered $40K for the domain by a start up company in Arizona, but the deal fell through because they didn’t get the round of VC funding they were expecting. If anyone has any ideas about what I could develop it into besides a free email service, I’d like to hear from you.

  49. Hello and Thanks for the opportunity. My favorite is
    Technology.Fund
What I heard abt my domain from seasoned Domainers:
“Nice name but is a ngtld..”
“I like it…keep it for 5 yrs and it might be worth something…”
    “Good Luck…”
    Cheers….

  50. I got York.Apartments last month.

    NewYorkApartments.com sold for $65K in 2010.

    And NewYorkApartmentsForSale.com sold for $42K in 2012.

so hope New.York.Apartments can do great.

  51. There are some great domains here. lilac.clm is a perfect name! My current favorite in my portfolio are

    PhotographySchool.com
    SanAntonioHomes.com

Im interested in what you guys think.

  52. nypples.com

Domainsponsor refused to list it, even when I sent a copy of the WHOIS,saying it was in someone else’s account (the previous owner, I’m guessing).

I’ve changed the DNS away from D/sponsor, since they and presumably the other person, ere profiting at my expense. Seemed a bit naughty.

Actually, it’s difficult to pick a fave once you own hundreds of names but this one just came to mind.

I might be prepared to part with it.

    Cheers

    Carl

  53. Lilac is easy to remember can be used in many different ways as the owner stated. 110,000 Monthly searches and the fact it is a dot com, oh and the keyword competition is low, making it easier to rank in Google and other major search engines.

My favorite domain is… YouGotItMade.com — Can be used for so many things.

  54. My favorite domain is – OneGreenLife.com I see huge potential given the desire to be kind to the environment and our limited resources.

  55. I have always liked a domain I have named:

    DriverWeb.com

Registered it quite some time ago during the AutoWeb.com advertising blitz.

Probably up for sale if anyone likes.

  56. One of my favorites, indecent to some, is Decapitations.com. I’ve had offers, surprisingly, but never acted upon them. And, as a side domain that I find worthy of interest and to which amuses me is Seperately.com. It’s a misspell but a good misspell.

  57. I wonder how a color domain name like lilac.com can be good. For sure it is a single word domain but…?

My favorite now is onweight.com but I would like your input about the “on” prefix. Is onkeyword.com domain names any good? onweight.com would be a website on weight control. Is that obvious?

  58. outdoorwirelessspeakers.com is my favorite, and one I hope I get to keep and use as I have invented an outdoor wireless speaker. Still, its for sale on afternic.com with 7 other names.

  59. I have some very good names, the real good ones are tld’s but my favorite is,
IPRAGUE.com people say the most beautiful city in the Czech Republic !

Great idea with everyone posting their favorite names !

  60. I have about 70 decent names but my favorites are:

    zp1.com
    peeksie.com
    ExToBe.com

Great idea on this post. I have a site dedicated to posting domains and discussing them called domafy.com.

  61. My favorite domain is BostonNation.com – this can be great for any pro-sports team in Boston (Celtics, Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins)… Or any fan/ticket site covering Boston-related events (sports, music, food, etc.). Anyone have any thoughts?

  62. pHkit.com

I’ve had this for over 10 years & used to sell a TON of alkaline/acid related products but moved on to other things. Anyone have any suggestions who would be interested? I was thinking maybe pH meter or pH balance testing supplies? Love this thread : )

  63. SanFrancisoMarijuana.com

Hoping Cali goes legal rec mj in 2016! med mj is legal now.

    RecreationalMarijuanaSeattle.com – I know , its long, but… keywords, lol

  64. Not worth a lot unless a bass pro or gander mountain decides to use it as a catch phrase ..

But my favorite to say is TakeMe.fishing because I love my memories of my grandfather taking me fishing.

    • You probably know about the Take Me Fishing . org site – I’ve seen many TV ads for it. Wonder if they’d like your version

    • no selbentag makes no sense i am by the way german nationality.
It would be called der selbe tag or am selben tag, but only selbentag would be just wrong

    • ok well than try to sell it on ebay.de you may get someone paying a bit for it. Still i wouldn’t know how to use that name. Maybe shipped the same day as some kind of slogan or maybe build or fixed the same day. However maybe the .de would be more useful in that case.

  65. pHkit.com

I posted this earlier and it was deleted… Is there a reason?
Was curious to see what anyone here thought, I like it. Maybe I wasn’t logged in when posted.
I’ve had this domain for 10+ years but haven’t used it for awhile.

  66. ConceptVendor.com
Though I have started using this domain for promoting my other domain auctions, it is the genuinely one of the best.
Available for sale at my flippa catalog include,

    TouristBlock.com,
that I consider as an ultimate domain for anything & everything tourist, a place for any & all tourist activities, a spot where you can spot every hotspot in the world.

    Best Regards,
    Daneyal F.

    PS:
LILAC is one great names for all times to come.

  67. My favorite one that I have is : Symphony.net
It is a one word , sounds cool, and in my opinion is worth a couple of bucks ๐Ÿ™‚

    What do you think.

    Regards

  68. My favorite names are whatstrendnow.com and whatstrendingnow.com

Trying to create branded blogs out of these domains

  69. My favorites are

    Investors.Asia
    Tirch.com
    Aekai.com
    Mobilefone.co
    Unionjack.info
    Wildlife.Asia
    Lasvegaspokerblog.com

  70. My favorite and recently acquired is licensedcontractors.com. It is a 14 year old domain, and my thoughts are to build it out similar to an Angieslist or Homeadvisor, and offer free information to homeowners looking to find a legit contractor, not just one willing to pay to recieve premium placement, that may be a fly by night, unlicensed business. Thoughts?

  71. Broadband.org.

Mark Zuckerberg owns Internet.org, purchased in 2013 for his vision of worldwide internet access. But the term internet is now giving way to broadband, with countries, municipalities, other government agencies (like the FCC) and thousands upon thousands of nonprofits working to get broadband to everyone. I think this name should be owned by a Google, a Musk or some other group with their own plans to cover the world in broadband.

  72. My favorite is coast.to a Tongan tld which I have owned since it’s inception. (I used to have a company called Coast to Coast Internet).
Also have migrantrights.com. Could be possibilities here with the problems in Europe.

  73. My favorite is coast.to a Tongan tld which I have owned since it’s inception. (I used to have a company called Coast to Coast Internet).
Also have migrantrights.com. Could be possibilities here with the problems in Europe.

  74. I have listed only dotcoms in the past.
Some new hand-regs. Don’t know if they’re any good? Any Views?

    Brazil.pm
    Qatar.pm
    Basketball.pm
    Football.pm
    Chinese.pm
    Poland.pm
    AbuDhabi.pm
    SaudiArabia.pm
    shalegas.co
    MonteCarlo.xyz
    Arabia.xyz

What would they be worth if they were dotcoms???

  75. My favorite is GanjaSpot.com as it can be used in several ways regarding the marijuana industry. I’m currently building a “marijuana industry” directory website on it, but it is for sale if anyone is interested. ๐Ÿ™‚

  76. Mine is http://www.nefut.com
it is easy to pronounce, one-word domain, and it’s also a name of an animal, it could fit in to any brand.
    Also i have some others:
http://www.ProtectRussia.com – Russia is a developing market for domains, so I registered this domain for maybe security related services or Medicals.

http://www.sonobet.com – sono is an Italian word meaning –
“they are” in English. so I join the with bet to make sonobet. It’s easily useful for betting companies and bet related services.

http://www.Astrofair.com – The internet is gradually taking over our usual market place, with the introduction of e-commerce and now virtual systems, this domain is useful for virtual trade fair, there are a couple of websites already doing this. You can see all of them at http://www.afternic.com/tunnypop

  77. It is difficult to choose…

Some of these are to be developed fully… Adult sites, guess which ones.

Possibly sell a couple for the right price..

    What do you think

Remi.xxx (The .com went for $145,000+)

    Role.xxx

    Late.xxx

    Halifa.xxx

    Pyre.xxx

  78. I like the fact that you ask about ‘favorite’ and not best.. A true domainer must love words and phrases and the sounds of the language, and that helps to fine-tune domain investments – plus its near impossible to not love certain domains for personal reasons.. it can get expensive if you buy on emotion, but whatever emotion that makes you want to buy a domain could also the same emotion that help other people remember / use it.

My favorite is “RideTheOpenRoad.com”. Not my best at all, but my favorite, and one of the first I registered. Its a phrase all bikers know, easy to remember, few other ways of saying it, and despite being 4 words, it still looks short..

    M.

    • I agree with you to your view on favorite vs/or best. And I really like your ‘RideTheOpenRoad.com’, which reminds me of the poems of the great American poet Whitman. As you say, the 4-word domain sounds short and memorably impressive and more so than characterless 4-letter acronym domains. I hope that you will find what you want to.

    • Michael; Nice!

Shortest 4 word ever – I just sold it recently: MyCarMyWay.com – just 10 characters.

  79. My favorite domain possession is WebWordz.net…there are some great WebWordz here that should influence the net in positive ways…

    • Like to add few more as i believe will have good future:
      justwearable.com
      anengine.com
      ooof.net
      ikids.co
      newsmedia.co
      flipdomain.co
      smartideas.co

Though .CO was never so popular, but read at multiple places, that it is gaining its name (considering its last 1-2 years sales) if you have a good brandable keyword. What do you say people?

  80. How about;

    iAlzheimers.com
    smartbangle.com
    bendyphone.com
    refuserecycling.com
    regionaldoctors.com

    Any Good to anyone?

  81. I don’t want to single anyone out, but I have to say that if these are peoples’ favorite names, most people are not going to make any money. The majority of the names presented here will never sell. It’s sad to think about what the rest of the portfolios look like if these are the favorites.

It takes a while to figure out what works and what doesn’t. It took me years to know that I should let over half of my then 6,000 names expire worthless. And I still trim each month. What remains is a portfolio from which names are sold every week at great prices, and get many offers every day. The average gain is 1100%.

I’m thinking many here have simply not been doing this long enough. I wish you all luck.

    • I agree Mark, but in their defense, you did ask for favorite, not best ๐Ÿ™‚

My favorite isn’t my best, I just love it. But I totally agree with you. My heart goes out to so many people who spend their money on domains they think will sell when there is no chance. This is where the comparison of domain names with actual real estate ends. Most actual real estate can be sold, maybe at a loss or you might have to wait a while, but not ALL domains will sell. There are just way too many combinations of words and TLDs for them all to be appealing or useful.

Before I bought any domains, I spent 6 months trolling Forums and Sales Report sites looking to see what sells and what doesn’t, and doing traffic studies to see what the correlation was between the sale prices of one domain over another. It took another 2 years before I had the balls to put a domain out there to sell. The learning curve is steep but I’ve managed to have an average of 1000% return over the last 4 years, and I still get nervous. I’m more afraid of being embarrassed trying to sell a stupid domain name that everyone else knows is bad and I’m the only one that thinks it is good, so that fear keeps my spending in check.

    • I meant, “they asked”, not “you asked”, for favorite..

Also, I dont know if this is useful for other people, but I stuck with buying generics, since there isnt any way of measuring the value of a brandable, and almost every domain I see listed here is a brandable. The domain I listed is pretty much the only brandable I own, because at least generics come with traffic stats, and if you look up the traffic for enough generics, and research other TLD sales, one should be able to get a sense of what the value is of the domain they own.

  82. One of my favourites is VeganBondage.com – quite a tight niche, if you pardon the pun, but if you don’t wear leather, what do you do for bondage equipment? PVC isn’t suitable for a lot of the equipment. I bet it is really difficult to find this sort of stuff as a vegan. I bet most stores only stock leather. (Speaking as an ex-vegan but with no experience of bondage!!)

  83. My favorite is Silliness.com – partly because it is a 1-word .com with sales potential (because silliness sells on the internet), but also partly because I don’t take myself too seriously. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  84. I predict that 90% of these “favorite domains” will have been dropped within 5 years.

Some people may have responded with their actual favorites, but their taste in domains will change.

And many people simply use these blog comment chains to gain visibility for whatever they have on hand to sell. So we’re actually looking at people’s clearance inventory in some cases.

Would anyone else like to predict the 5-year renewal rate among the favorites so far? Closest person to the actual figure can hit me up for a free beverage in 2020.

  85. Mine is braggingrights.com. Just wish I could come up with a great idea for a website. Got shorter ones like bucking, coerce, and do4 – all .coms, but always felt my favorite could be a grand slam if utilized properly.

  86. ThisDayInBlackHistory.com is my favorite. An outstanding opportunity to present new content daily to loyal followers.

  87. Here are a few of my favorite domains: LostaLovedOne.com UnkeptPromises.com AdventuresAwaitYou.com VeteransLivesMatter.com PrintingInAsia MeetOnTheSpot.com

  88. Forgot the .com designation on one of my domains in the previous post.

Here are a few of my favorite domains:
    LostaLovedOne.com
    UnkeptPromises.com
    AdventuresAwaitYou.com
    VeteransLivesMatter.com
    PrintingInAsia.com
    MeetOnTheSpot.com

  89. I have quite a few good premiums, but if forced to pick one…

My fav would be Tabu.com that I hand registered years ago – I’m actually looking for new ideas and/or possible partners, so I thought I’d throw this out there.

    Thanks

    • Scott, Tabu.com is one of the few great names I’ve seen on this thread. Hold out for $15,000 at least for that. Probably can get $20,000 or $30,000 if you are patient.

  90. Hi,

    smartbangle.com
    agencyworkers.com
    controlbyphone.com
    disabledweddings.com
    implantapps.com
    regionaldoctors.com
    refuserecycling.com
    football.pm
    basketball.pm
    brazil.pm
    Qatar.pm

Got loads more – can’t decide on best.
    Thanks.

  91. Domaining is not all about investing, but about loving domains. I bought domains for investing and also because I love them, hoping that if even they would not been able to be flipped, they’ll will end as good website names for my blogs. I have :
    Krozer.com
    Otets.com
    Bhoni.com
    Chapters.co
    CouponSpotter.com
    Reboundz.com
    Shops.co.id
    Electronics.co.id

  92. I have many favorites… today it’s FunCruises.com.

BTW: Google site:.us and you can get a huge list of dot us websites.

  93. Seriously, this is the saddest thread of comments I’ve ever seen. Such horrible domain names–makes me wonder what the non-favorites are. ๐Ÿ™ . People, save your money.
