Bodis Acquires TrafficZ

During the last week of December, TrafficZ announced that the parking service was shutting down at  the end of 2014. I was a bit surprised that they chose to shut down rather than be acquired, especially after a commenter reported that there were still quite a few domain names using TrafficZ DNS.

According to an email I received this morning, Bodis has acquired TrafficZ. The email was sent to me because I have a  TrafficZ account (rather than as a news article to report), and there aren’t any details about the terms of the acquisition.

Here is what the email said:

Hello Elliot,

On behalf of Bodis we are pleased to announce the acquisition of TrafficZ as our latest affirmation of commitment to expand and improve parking services to our valued users.

As part of Bodis, you will now enjoy the following features:

NET 7 Payments
Fast Support
Advanced Reporting
Sale Options
and more
We have migrated your TrafficZ account to Bodis and generated a new password for your account:

The Bodis Team

I am glad to see that TrafficZ was acquired, especially because they will continue to allow customers to use TrafficZ DNS to monetize their domain names. I presume most people who earn revenue would have already changed their DNS by now, but there are probably some stragglers who have not yet changed their DNS. This will allow them to continue earning revenue.

This is also a win for Bodis because there may be domain names on TrafficZ DNS that earn some revenue but haven’t been monetized since TrafficZ shut down.

If I receive more details about the deal, I will share them with  you.
