Media Options Confirms Sale of EG.com

In a tweet this morning, George Kirikos mentioned that the two letter EG.com domain name had changed status. The domain name status had changed to unlocked, which could be a prelude to a domain transfer, possibly indicating that a sale had taken place.

EG.com is owned by Media Options, and it has been owned by the Panama-based company for several months. I reached out to Media Options CEO Andrew Rosener, and he confirmed that the domain name has been sold. Andrew told me, “I can confirm we sold EG.com. After the purchase of MJ.com.” The company owns 4 LL.com domain names, and once the sale is complete, it will be down to 3.

Andrew would not comment on the sale price of EG.com, so it looks like this will not be reported publicly and stay off the sales charts. He also would not share any information about the buyer of the domain name. I believe this is one of Media Options’ three LL.com domain name sales I mentioned on Sunday.

One thing I noticed is that EG.com is still listed on Afternic with a price of $899,000. My guess would be that EG.com sold somewhere close to its asking price. I am sure the listing will be taken down at some point very soon.

Thanks to George Kirikos for sharing this.

  1. If my memory serves me right it was listed for a little under 500K with few brokers. No idea what it was sold for but I would guess for something around that range.
