NamesCon 2016 Sponsor Spotlight on Bodis

This article is part of a series of interviews to introduce or reacquaint people with NamesCon 2016 exhibitors and sponsors. Today’s NamesCon Spotlight interview is with Matt Wegrzyn, founder of Bodis, a domain name parking service.

NamesCon will take place at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas from January 10-13, 2016. 1,000 attendees are expected to attend this annual domain investing conference.

If you have any questions for Matt or Bodis representatives, you are welcome to ask them in the comment section or in person at NamesCon.

What is your company’s mandate, what sets you apart?
BODIS is a domain parking platform with the goal of becoming the first choice for all domainers seeking to monetize their undeveloped domain names.

We hope to be perceived as the leading parking service by constantly innovating and improving our platform and offering. Most importantly, we aim to provide the best customer support, and we have successfully responded to 99.9% of support requests within 24 hours over the past 12 months.

Who benefits from your product or service?
Any domain owner that has interest in parking his/her undeveloped domains. An average user will park several hundred domains.

What factors have contributed to your company’s growth and success?
As a company, our success derives largely from the strong customer relationships we have built. We pride ourselves to focus our attention on developing features that help our customers manage their large domain portfolios more efficiently and generate more revenue.

What’s the story behind how your company was founded?
The company was founded 8+ years by myself when looking for a parking service for my domains. At the time, only a handful of domain parking companies existed and I thought it would be a great idea if I took the challenge to start my own. It’s definitely been a challenge. It feels like an emergency occurs almost every week, however we have been at it successfully for 8+ years, while other parking companies have closed their doors or have been bought out during this time.

How would you define your company strategy and vision?
Our company strategy going forward is to continue to innovate and improve on our service. We love domains, and we love technology. Our business is healthy and we don’t see domain parking going away anytime soon.

What major milestones has your company accomplished?
Perhaps not milestones but interesting tidbits about our company:
-Our company was founded 8+ years ago.
-We actively monetize hundreds of thousands of parked domain names.
-All domains parked on our service, collectively receive more traffic than some of the larger websites and companies on the web.

How will your company engage attendees at the upcoming NamesCon?
We will have a booth and we encourage attendees to stop by and say hello!

Can you tell us about your first time at NamesCon and what you got out of it?
The first time I have personally attended Namescon was last year (the second Namescon show). I quickly realized that this is a show that both my company and myself will be attending going forward.

What was one of the most memorable sessions or keynotes at a previous NamesCon?
My idea of the most memorable session, has always been the face to face networking with other attendees.

How has NamesCon helped your company achieve its goals?
Namescon allows us to network and do business with the best in the industry. There is no other venue that brings together all the top industry professionals in one convenient location. Plus, there’s really no better place to do that than Vegas!

What are your thoughts on the new TLDs?
The new TLDs prove that the domain industry is still evolving. Many of our customers have chosen to buy into these new TLDs and are actively parking their domains with Bodis. We have yet to see the full impact of these new TLDs over the next years.

What are you most looking forward to at the upcoming conference?
Building new relationships with people that have not heard of BODIS.
Where can attendees find out more about your company, product or services while at NamesCon?
We encourage attendees to stop by our booth on the main showroom floor. We’ll have more info as well as goodies at our booth.
