James Altucher is Someone You Should Follow

Relatively speaking, I don’t follow all that many accounts on Twitter. The vast majority of the people and companies I follow are active in the domain investing space, and many of those who aren’t are connected to the business somehow. There are just a handful of people and companies I follow who aren’t related to the business of domain investing, and James Altucher is one of those people.

James Altucher is an entrepreneur and writer. He’s founded a number of companies, some of which were successful and some of which failed.  He has written several books, is an active blogger, and is a contributing writer on a number of websites and publications.

Through his blog articles,  Facebook posts, Twitter tweets, and other shares, I’ve absorbed some of his excellent advice. Almost (if not) all of his shares are based on personal stories, and many of these learnings come from times Altucher has failed. He is candid, humorous, and his advice is practical. I don’t think there are many people willing to share as much about themselves as he does in a way that is helpful to his readers.

Here are five recent (last few months) articles and posts I found either interesting, funny, enlightening, or all three:

Altucher has a great way of connecting with his audience, and even though I haven’t been in many situations that he describes, I feel like I can commiserate with him because of his openness and honesty. I appreciate reading Altucher’s blog posts and tweets, and if you don’t follow him already, I think you should.

  1. “Four or five years ago, a reader of some of my columns bought the domain name jamesaltucher.com and gave it to me as a birthday gift. It was a total surprise to me. I didn’t even know the reader. I hope one day we meet.”

How many readers of regular blogs know the value of a domain name. Was that you Elliot?

  2. James is an incredible individual 🙂 met him in person with his wife Claudia last year at a business/yoga retreat 🙂 I told James I had to see him doing yoga in person to believe it 🙂 met him through another great man Kamal Ravikant – http://kamal.co who wrote “Love Yourself As If Your Life Depended on It”
