NameFind Lists Names for Sale via GoDaddy Auctions

If you visit GoDaddy Auctions regularly, you probably noticed a banner on top of the page announcing a special auction of domain names that “have never been at auction.”

GoDaddy Auctions

Clicking through the link takes visitors to a page with 21 domain names listed for sale. Whois records show that these domain names are part of GoDaddy’s NameFind portfolio. A cursory check shows the starting prices (and some reserve prices) are below the price level the company had been asking.

At the time of publication, several of these domain names have hit their reserve prices and will sell to the highest bidder, including the following:

  • S9.net
  • VF.net
  • Townhome.com
  • MB.org
  • ULoan.com
  • KeepCalm.com
  • Manipulate.com
  • 744.net
  • iWallet.com
  • 92.0rg

This first group of auctions will end in three days from now.

I received an email about these auctions, and I was told other domain names would be up for auction. I reached out to a few contacts at GoDaddy to ask about the other domain names, and I have not heard a reply back about them. I am unsure if those were added to a list in error or if there are plans to add names or host a subsequent auction.

Selfishly, I hope the other domain names are put up for auction because there are a few I have an interest in buying.

With GoDaddy owning the domain names in this auction, it will be interesting to see if the company continues to list some of its domain names for sale via its Auctions platform. If I receive more information in response to my inquiry, I will share an update or perhaps another article if it is warranted.

  1. “These unique and exclusive names have never been at auction, so don’t miss your shot.”

KeepCalm.com was acquired in a SnapNames auction for $205 in 2005 according to NameBio. That is likely when Mr. Berkens acquired it…. never say never is what I’m trying to say 🙂
