$4 Million Dollar Domain Sale for Moniker

According to a news release today, Moniker recently brokered the sale of adult domain name FreePorn.com for $4 million. This marks the largest domain sale of 2008, and one of the largest domain sales ever. In May of 2007, Porn.com sold for $9 million.

The sale of FreePorn.com is noteworthy as it emphasizes the importance of owning a strong and targeted domain name receiving traffic. According to the Compete ranking, FreePorn.com receives over 200,000 unique visitors per month, and according to Alexa, FreePorn.com has seen tremendous growth over the past year.
